Do good summer motorcycle boots and shoes exist?

Of course they do. When the heat is on here in Houston, you can be well equipped with coolness and safety.

Regardless of the type of motorcyclist you are, summer is not an excuse to be badly equipped. Every time we see someone with shorts and flip flops, our collective heart's break. So, even if you’re trying to stay cool riding around in the heat and humidity, being well equipped from head to foot ensures your safety. There are all sorts: some town motorcycle boots, other ideal for routes, and others are very sporty. So, here at V1 MOTO we’ve made a selection of the best motorcycle boots for summer.

5. DAINESE SOLARYS AIR MOTORCYCLE BOOTS

Let’s start this ranking with the Dainese Solarys Air, touring boots made with microfiber combined with breathable fabric. In spite of these being high shaft boots, their design allows for great airflow and for staying cool in summer without this compromising our safety.

Precisely, as regards safety, we have rigid inserts in the ankles, the shin and TPU reinforcements on the outside of the ankle. They’re very comfortable thanks to the elasticated inserts, to other soft inserts and to the micro-injected reinforcements. A great choice for less than 200€. You won’t go wrong with them. By the way, there’s also a version with a waterproof Gore-Tex membrane, which is not vented, obviously.

4. DAINESE PERSEPOLIS AIR SHOES

Let’s change tack, because there are also vented motorcycle shoes, ideal for day to day: going to the office, to class, etc. The Dainese Persepolis Air are a good example if you’re looking for something like this. Made of cowhide with a large perforated area that affords great ventilation. With rigid inserts on the ankles, rubber sole, shifter reinforcement and reflective inserts. 3. ALPINESTARS FASTER-3 RIDEKNIT

In fact, another analysis we also made is of the Alpinestars Faster 3 Rideknit boots, another pair of boots with a short shaft but a much more sports design that the Persepolis. In this case the main material is seamless mesh and microfiber. The lining is 3D mesh, very breathable and comfortable.

Their sports spirit can be seen in the TPR side slider, in the extended TPU insert in the lower side, the sole and the ergonomically designed heel counter. Another good pair of shoes that you can use every day but also they can gear you up perfectly for your weekend routes. They are available in various different colours.

2. ALPINESTARS SMX-1 R VENTED

If you want to step up a notch of sportiness, there’s the vented version of the Alpinestars SMX-1 R Vented boots, short shaft boots with large perforated areas. In this case, the main material is microfiber, very resistant and reinforced with TPU protectors, like, for example the lateral slider.

The outer area of the hell is also made of TPU for good protection against impacts with a flexible upper area, With this we do not lose the capacity of movement. It’s another great boot for fans of short shafts and that look for maximum ventilation for the hottest days. It’s available in various different colour combinations.

1. ALPINESTARS SUPERTECH R VENTED

And we’ve left the best for last. Our mouths starts watering with these boots: the vented version of the Alpinestars Supertech R. These are boots born for and on the track. They are the best you can find on the market if you like to get your knee down, as they’re ideal for maximum airflow but without renouncing comfort and safety.

These are high shaft boots, made of high technology microfiber, with a very flexible front part made of TPU over-injected with breathable mesh. Precisely in the front part is where we find the shin guard, also made of TPU, same as the slider (in this case bi-injected). Without forgetting the heel where we find a replaceable plate.

What makes them stand out from the other boots is the biomechanical interior bootie that provides us with safety and freedom of movements; it’s a very interesting conjunction from Alpinestars.
