David Speeks
Periodically we will spotlight a member of our team so that you may know us a little when you come in. This time it's David Speeks and we chose these questions just for him.

1. Mr. Speeks, please tell the folks what you do at V1 MOTO.
Well my primary role at V1 is Senior Tea Taster. I drink the stuff all day long - I don’t care if it’s 90+º outside, a good cup of hot Earl Grey is the business. I also get to work on gorgeous Ducati and other exotica!

2. You don’t need to look any further than WSBK to know that England has a huge Ducati following. Did you race growing up in England and who were some of your Ducati heros back then?
I never had the talent/self-confidence/opportunity to actually enter a race. However, I was a track day junkie. My first experience on track was a Ducati track day at Brands Hatch in 1990! As for Ducati race hero’s, I watched Marco Lucchinelli win on the original 851 at Donington in 1988. But my real hero is Carl Fogerty. In 1992 Foggy bought an 888 Corse customer bike and won race 2 at Donington against all the factory bikes!

3. Jimmie the shoeshine boy told me you were trained by a very special Ducati legend. Is that true and who was it?
I had a lot of help in my younger days as a Ducati tech, which all began in 1991. The legendary Steve Wynne of Sports Motorcycles initially trained me for a week at his race shop. Steve was a constant source of information and encouragement through the years.

4. We are living in some strange days – it must be a great concern being a family man. How important is your faith right now?
We do live in strange times! As a family we have changed our routine and habits for sure. Watching the Sunday morning sermon from our church via iPad really isn’t as meaningful as attending in person. We have faith things will work out as they are supposed to.

The V1 MOTO Service team in full force.

5. You’re a man of few words and super humble, but now it’s time to brag. Are you faster than Carlos Lescale on a bike?
Well, that depends. On a mountain bike? Maybe. On a dirt bike in the woods? Oh yeah! On any other discipline, I wouldn’t see which way he went! He’s seriously fast!

If David were to catch Carlos on track, he would need the fastest bike made.
