This Is The CRF450 Rally Racer Honda Is Using To Beat KTM At The 2021 Dakar

After securing its first-ever Dakar Rally win in 2001, KTM proceeded to establish an utter stranglehold on the grueling two-week event, claiming victory at every Dakar running since then. In 2020, however, Honda put an abrupt end to the Ready To Race brad’s nearly two-decade winning streak when American racer Ricky Brabec won the motorcycle class aboard an adventure and race-prepped CRF450 Rally.

After its historic win last year, the Monster Honda team was looking to replicate its 2020 success. And after 7,600 km and 12 extremely challenging stages, Honda dominated almost all  the 2021 Dakar Rally has finally concluded with Monster Energy Honda Team defending its crown. Rider Kevin Benavides claimed his first win in Dakar at the end of Stage 12 that saw the competitors complete the final 202 km special stage. Joining Benavides on the podium is teammate Rick Brabec who finished as a runner-up. Honda dominated most of the 12 stages this year, ahead of other factory teams including KTM
