The Ducati DesertX Returns For 2023 With New Livery
Since the launch of Ducati’s DesertX earlier this year, the new rally-inspired machine has defied expectations, proving it can be a legitimate contender in the competitive off-road ADV segment. For 2023, Ducati is adding some spice to their freshly baked Adventure Bike with the introduction of what the manufacturer calls the RR22 livery — a design originally intended only as an exclusive one-off colorway for a track day put together with Audi and ex-Moto GP star Danilo Petrucci in Sardinia.
Unveiled this week at EICMA, the new RR22 livery was created by Ducati’s Style Center designers and inspired by the Audi RS Q e-tron ― an innovative electric-drivetrain vehicle which made an impressive debut at last year’s Dakar by snatching four stage victories and 14 stage podium results.
The new livery drapes the DesertX in black, gray and red with graphics that give a nod to the advanced technology of the Audi RS Q e-tron on its body. The styling package is completed with a splash of red integrated into the black saddle.
The bike still features its tried and proven 937cc Testastretta engine pumping 110 ponies, 21”/18” wheels, generous ground clearance and 9.1”/ 8.7” of front and rear suspension travel. As you’d expect from Ducati, the DesertX is also equipped with a full suite of state-of-the-art rider aids as well as premium braking by Brembo. One of the stand-out characteristics is its optional rear tank, which adds an additional 2.1 gallons of fuel to the 5.54-gallon standard capacity.
