How You’ll Use It

Not all scooters are built alike, because not all riders need the same thing from their model. Some like to use them as a safe and easy way to run errands or head to nearby social gatherings. In this case, you’ll probably want something with a smaller engine that offers enough power to get around while also being easy to handle.

When you want more speed and a bigger engine, you’ll probably want to think about a model with a displacement of 150cc or more. This can be helpful if you’ll spend a lot of time on faster roads, and also the safest way to use a scooter on an open highway. However, we do recommend getting something with at least 300cc if you intend to spend lots of time on speedways.

Budget

As with any major purchase, you’ll want to think about your budget. Scooters will be more affordable than other types of two-wheeled vehicles, but they’ll still cost you a pretty penny. Make sure you’re not going overboard by setting a budget with a little bit of wiggle room. Don’t forget to include things like fuel and maintenance costs, as well as registration and safety gear.
